Now that I have the “new” computer working, I have to spend a couple of days on the mend myself: I had surgery for a hernia on Wednesday. My plan was to to a “live blog” on the efficiency of hospital operating procedures. I guess I can tell you that general anesthesia works pretty well, since I have absolutely no memory between “Just slide onto the table here” and “How are you feeling? Ready to go?”. So give me a couple of days then I will be ready to take on the OR world again, with upcoming conferences in South Africa and New York.
Ouch.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Best wishes of recovery!
Best Wishes for you.
Best wishes for a complete and full recovery. I won’t say speedy though…
Take your time with the recovery and follow your doctor’s instructions carefully. I started riding horses too soon after my surgery and managed to reinjure myself- didn’t have to go in for a second surgery (thank goodness), but the healing process took a couple of months longer than it should have.
Yep, very best wishes of recovery !
A buddy of mine just had this surgery as well… he was on the mend for a couple of weeks. His wife was upset about the lack of bedroom activities which I found to kind of humorous, but after about 2 weeks he was back to normal. He told me life post-surgery is a lot less miserable than life beforehand, so I guess his pain was worse before than any pain he suffered as a result of the surgery itself. Anyways, I hope you feel better! btw, i just recently started reading this blog… I enjoy it thoroughly and will be a frequent visitor! [I am now an RSS Subscriber :)]
Thanks for all the good wishes. I am feeling much better and am even back to work (and blogging!). I will stay off of horses for a couple more weeks (having avoided them for the last 30+ years since being a teenager, this shouldn’t be hard).
Mike – you need guest bloggers to paper over weak flesh. Like Fake Jerry Yang on The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs (http://fakesteve.blogspot.com/). Get well soon!
Hernia and a new computer? I hope its not related 😉 Hope you recover soon
